The Intuitive Artist is for the woman who knows there is more waiting beneath the surface of her work.

More honesty.
More trust.
More aliveness.
More of herself.

For the artist who can feel something true in the early layers, before she starts tidying, fixing, softening, or making the work more acceptable.

For the artist who is ready to listen more deeply to the body, the brush, the quiet nudges, the recurring symbols, the strange pulls, and the parts of the painting that keep asking for her attention.

Early Bird enrolment is open now until midnight Sunday 9 August 2026 AEST.

A 12-week immersive creative online practice, designed as a guided 'in-home artist residency' for women ready to develop a more alive, honest and intuitive relationship with their creativity.

This is time out from the way you normally create. A protected period of painting, listening, reflection and return, where the goal is not simply to produce more finished work, but to discover who you are becoming as an artist.

I believe the artist and the work evolve together. As we grow, the work grows with us. And this is what makes The Intuitive Artist different.

It begins within, not on the canvas.

The Founding Circle begins online Tuesday 1 September 2026 and runs for 12 weeks.

The Heart of My Work

Every painting asks a question. Sometimes it asks about colour or composition. More often it asks about courage, trust, patience or letting go.

This is the work that has fascinated me for more than a decade.

During that time, I have guided hundreds of women to paint with greater freedom, confidence and authenticity. Along the way, I have discovered that the greatest shifts rarely come from learning another technique. They come from learning to trust ourselves.

We spend so much of our lives looking outside ourselves for the right answer, the right technique, the right next step. Yet the artists whose work moves us most have learnt to trust something much quieter. Their own response.

My work is about helping artists find that place. To paint with greater awareness, recognise the difference between judgement and intuition, and discover a visual language that could only belong to them.

I believe every painting offers an opportunity to understand ourselves more deeply. The canvas becomes a place to explore courage, uncertainty, curiosity and possibility. Over time, we begin to see that the way we paint often reflects the way we move through life.

The Intuitive Artist brings together everything I have learnt through years of painting, teaching and mentoring. It is an invitation to deepen your relationship with your work, strengthen your trust in yourself, and build a creative practice that feels authentic, courageous and unmistakably your own.

This is the deeper work beneath the painting.

Yes, we will paint. But the painting is the doorway.

Across the twelve weeks, the online work will move through painting, studio rituals, meditation, guided journeys, journaling, art journaling, card pulling, drumming and intuitive listening practices.

These are not extras. They are part of how we enter the work, listen more deeply, loosen the grip of the thinking mind and create from a more embodied, intuitive place.

This is a practice of listening and letting go. Of staying when the work becomes unresolved. Of noticing what keeps returning and trusting what arrives through the body and the brush. Over time, the painting becomes less like something you force into being and more like a conversation you learn how to remain inside.

At the centre of the online programme is
The Six Canvas Practice.

Each month, you will work with the same six canvases. You will keep returning to them, adding, changing, layering, disrupting, responding and noticing what happens in you as the work moves.

Those six canvases are the core practice we will all be moving through together, but they do not need to be the only work you make. You may be painting on other canvases, drawing, journalling or creating all sorts of work behind the scenes, and you can decide what you want to do with that work. The commitment to painting over everything applies to the six canvases within the practice.

At the end of the month, you will paint over those six canvases and begin again.

What this practice changes in you

The Intuitive Artist is designed to transform the way you meet the work.

You begin to recognise what feels alive before you rush to make it acceptable.

You begin to notice where you are controlling, protecting, tidying, shrinking or trying to make the painting “good” too soon.

You begin to stay when the work becomes uncomfortable, unresolved or unknown.

You begin to listen to the body, the brush, the symbols, the strange pulls, the recurring colours and the parts of the work that keep asking for your attention.

And slowly, the painting becomes less of a performance and more of a conversation.

This is the deeper transformation at the heart of The Intuitive Artist.

A more honest relationship with your work.

A stronger trust in your intuition.

A greater capacity to let go.

A braver, more alive way of creating.

What’s involved across the 12 weeks

The Intuitive Artist runs online from Tuesday 1 September to Monday 23 November 2026.

Across the 12 weeks, you will be guided through three creative thresholds.

Month One: Clearing and Letting Go
Releasing the noise, pressure, attachment, control, and performance that can keep the work smaller than it wants to be.

Month Two: Opening to the Conversation
Learning to listen, follow clues, notice what keeps returning, and let the work become a living conversation.

Month Three: Aliveness and Trust
Recognising what feels alive, staying with discomfort, and trusting the relationship between you and the work.

Inside the programme, you will receive:

For over a decade, Deni Rayneau has guided artists from all over the world to paint with greater freedom, confidence and authenticity.

Through online and in-person workshops, retreats and mentoring, she helps artists strengthen their visual language, trust their intuition and develop work that is deeply personal.

Her teaching reaches beyond technique. While colour, composition and mark-making all have an important place, Deni believes the greatest shift happens when an artist begins to trust her own response.

Known for her honest feedback, thoughtful observations and grounded approach, she creates environments where artists feel safe to experiment, take risks and build a sustainable creative practice.

Deni's work has inspired a growing community of artists around the world who are discovering that painting can become both a creative practice and a way of understanding themselves more deeply.

If this resonates with you and you can feel an internal yes, trust it. If it sparks curiosity alongside some uncertainty or fear, that does not necessarily mean no. Sometimes it means you are standing at the edge of something new.

The Intuitive Artist begins with that kind of listening.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Six Canvas Practice?

Each month, you will begin with six canvases and return to those same six canvases again and again throughout the month, listening, responding, layering, changing, disrupting and staying with the work as it moves.

At the end of the month, you will paint over all six canvases entirely.

Then the following month, you begin again.

This practice helps you notice where you grip, protect, control, tidy, attach or try to make the work “good” too soon.

Will I finish paintings in this online programme?

The Intuitive Artist is not centred around producing finished paintings.

Inside The Six Canvas Practice, we will intentionally paint over everything we create at the end of each month. This is a practice in letting go, non-attachment, trust and beginning again.

You may create work that teaches you something important. You may create work you love. You may create work that feels alive and difficult to release. That is part of the practice.
This doesn’t mean that you can't paint anything else during the programme and finish those.

Is this a painting course?

The Intuitive Artist includes painting, but it is a deeper creative practice rather than a traditional painting course.

We will work with paint, canvases, layers and marks, alongside studio rituals, meditation, guided journeys, journaling, art journaling, card pulling, drumming and intuitive listening practices.

The painting is the doorway. The deeper work is learning how to listen, trust, let go, stay with discomfort and create from a more embodied and intuitive place.

What materials will I need?

You will need six canvases each month, or six surfaces you are willing to work on and paint over completely.

You will also need your usual paints and tools, a written journal, and an art journal or old book for ongoing intuitive practice.

A fuller materials list will be sent before the programme begins.

Is there a Payment Plan available?

Yes, there are payment plans available for both the Early Bird and Normal Price tiers.
The Early Bird plan is 4x monthly payments of $500 AUD. That's $16 AUD a day.

How much time will I need each week?

You will receive weekly online practices to guide your studio and intuitive work.

Ideally, you will create a regular rhythm with the practice, even if it is small. This might include painting, journaling, meditation, listening, art journaling, walking, noticing, or returning to the canvases.

You do not need perfect conditions. You need a willingness to return.

What if I can't be online each week?

I understand that we all have our lives outside of our studios and if you can't attend the entire 12 weeks while it's running, that's ok too.  Everything will be recorded and you can skip the weeks you've missed and rejoin the group at any time or pick up where you left off and flow on from there at your own pace.
You will have access to the course material until enrolment opens again in July 2027.

Are the 'Live' calls recorded?

Yes. All of the live calls will be recorded and available for replay.

If you cannot attend live, you can still move through the programme in your own time.
We will have 2 times for the fortnightly Live Calls.
USA + Canada will be morning calls in Sydney to match your afternoon/evening times.

UK + Europe will be afternoon calls in Sydney to match your morning times.
Exact dates and times will be coordinated with all of the participants.

Do I need to be an experienced artist?

You do not need formal training or years of painting experience, but you do need some familiarity with working independently with paint and a willingness to explore without needing step-by-step instruction.

The Intuitive Artist is less about learning painting techniques and more about developing trust, awareness and a deeper relationship with your own creative process.

Is this suitable if I have worked with you before?

Yes.

If you have been part of Art&Soul, The Messy Middle, an in-person workshop, a retreat or another space with me, The Intuitive Artist is a new container with a very specific practice at its centre.

It may connect with threads we have explored together before, especially intuition, trust, letting go, aliveness and creative honesty, but the structure, rhythm and intention are different.

The Six Canvas Practice, the monthly painting over and the wider intuitive practices make this a focused twelve-week experience in becoming a more intuitive artist.

It is a way to return to the deeper foundations of your creative practice with fresh eyes, a new structure and a willingness to let the work change you again.
